CBSE 2008 results: What a mess

The CBSE 2008 class Xth results create a lot of tension, mess and in the end it is just one screen with blue stripes that says it all. 12 months of hardwork, pressure and loads of inspirational remarks by teachers, parents and relatives. A class Xth student has to bare all this torture all for 5 marks, which will be asked again and again in the future. Some might need it for a minimum qualifying criteria and some might need it as an address proof. The marks have simply boiled down to nothing but a minimum requirement and it takes the maximum out of the small kid. Thats what happened to my sister who was so terrified before the results. Finally she managed a decent 80% giving her a reason to cheer and be happy. Finally the results are out and those who have scored less or more, I'd like to share a small story from my own life. I scored 77% in class X. I was always an underdog sort of a person and nobody really expected
me to score marks. In class XII the reverse happened. I scored 10% more score 87.6 % in XII and coming 2nd in the school. I had never even crossed the so called magical figure of 80% even once since class 7th.
All this makes me question the purpose of the class Xth exam. I may be questioning since I never got good marks in Xth or maybe otherwise. It is not the marks that I have problem against. It is the people who are try to pull each other down making it messy.

Lets see what awaits for those who'll give the class Xth exams this year and for the years to come. Wishing them good luck

IPL encounters

It seems IPL matches have been fixed, somewhere above by the person who wrote destiny and promised each of us some enlightenment in the era of the stale reality television.
This is reality TV at its best. The matches are going to the last over, the last bowl and the last wicket. It seems like the roman era is back with the gladiators from all over the world fighting in an amphitheater and playing for their life. IPL concept is similar to the concept of gladiators fighting till the end. Initially it all seemed like a big moolah riot with the players being bidded, bought and sold much like non-living entities.

Then came the first match and the gladiator no:1(McCullum fired and bludgeoned the old jammy(Rahul Dravid) of the Indian team. Jammy and his team, it seems never recovered from the blow. What followed kept the world glued to their seats with a thrilling and nail biting action on offer. Shane Warne with his bat rode over the victory line in the first of such events. Then came the disaster of captaincy by sehwag and poor bowling by shoaib malik that helped badrinath send the devils from delhi back into the den. That just cost them their place in the semifinals. They repeated a similar mistakes against the mumbai Indians and that time it sehwag again.

As the fire on the cricketing arena was red hot and blazing, the boxing rings were not far away. Sreesanth fell victim to the aggression, anger and foolishness of Harbhajan Singh. This incident raised many fingures at the IPL and its concept. The fire took some time to be controlled and in the meanwhile it did a lot of damage. Harbhajan lost almost 4 crore rupees and the reputation of both Harbhajan and sreesanth took a beating.

On the corporate arena was the king of good times who was not facing a very good time on the team standings chart. It was not long as the pressure created frictions and the fire got the CEO of royal challengers of bangalore, Charu Sharma, decommissioned. Venky too was on the hit list and before the trigger could be pressed a cool Rahul jammed the gun.

Then was the time of the grandpa of Bengal. oops dada. Not grandpa. Although his fielding didn;t make him any different, he still showed his skill with the bat, saving kolkatta many times. It was not long as DADA and King Khan's differences were out on the front pages.

Finally with the semifinals getting close, the most gelled up teams are here and the rest are out and it will be a treat to see these gladiators entertain us in probably what could be said as the most popular cricket tournament in Indian history.

Police station encounter

I was at the police station with my friend lodging an FIR for my friend's stolen PAN card. This is a necessary document that helps you get a duplicate copy being made. As I was at the police station a dark guy (a college kid) came in the reception and narrated his incident to the policeman at the reception. He had got a ransom call from an unknown person and he looked scared. To my amazement the policeman and his colleagues found this very amusing.
I had seen such things on the television but had never seen such a thing in real life. The inspector asked him his personal worth and he said that it was about 3 lakhs. The inspector again found that amusing saying that even the devil could not do anything to you. Finally they told him to go to another police station out of their zone. That poor guy just did as was told and went away in the burning heat. This time the burger was not good. What do you think must be done to these stale burgers (our police)

Music reality show #1: When I liked it

I started watching music reality TV shows with the first episode of Indian Idol. I didn't even miss a single episode even after having an exam on the other day. I genuinely liked the concept. Then came Idol2 and I again followed it religiously. With Idol2 several other shows became popular for me like the ever popular saregampa. The judges of Saregamapa were bit aggressive, especially the cap master , Mr Himesh Reshamiya. I suppose debojit won that time after defeating vineet in the finals. The first Indian Idol was won by Abhijeet sawant (the deserving candidate) after he got more votes than amit sana and rahul vaidya (who I thought became arrogant in the end).
I thoroughly enjoyed this phase of the reality shows, when they were good. For me Indian Idol made them popular and took them to a new level, a level more popular and glamorous. The contestants were good, talented and the deserving ones (Abhijeet) won in the end. Woah! What a perfect beginning. Anu Malik spiced up the show by his antics and aggressive and blunt attitude in Indian Idol, whereas saregamapa was plagued by the ever fighting music directors.

India TV : The news channel

India TV, the news channel I used to watch and watch regularly has lots its direction and sense for the moment. Thats my personal opinion. I don't mean offend anybody except the creative (infact the whole team) of India TV. From the morning till the evening, there are only two things which come non-stop. One is their every popular and active "Breaking News" and then comes their non-stop commentary on reality shows. The clips of which have been taken from the TV channels. what is happening is that the TV channels are promoting their reality shows non-stop on a news channel, which is willing to do so. They simply have no news. Cricket comes in because of IPL, again the same bla bla on every channel. An astrology Baba come at 11:30 on the channel. He looks more like a tantrik giving some views which can only be heard if you are super attentive. But their breaking news breaks every hope of INDIA TV being a news channel. How can a TV news channel continuously give breaking news for two hours (9:00 to 11:30 pm). The news really sucks. There is nothing so breaking about it.

Vodafone Advertisement Regina Spektor - 'Hotel Song' : Rating and Review

Vodafone Advertisement Regina Spektor - 'Hotel Song'

Review: A well thought out ad, very young and very new. To make the most of now you would certainly dance with a girl you like on the street. You wouldn't wait for the discos to open. The pretty girl in the red dress (Vodafone) has brought you into her world and the smart guy (you) made the most of now.

Lyrics of the song
Come in, come in
Come into my world I've got to show
Show show you
Come into my bed
I've got to know
Know know you

I have dreams of orca whales and owls
But I wake up in fear
You will never be my
You will never be my fool
Will never be my fool

Panchvi Pass se Tez Hain

नहीं नहीं नहीं । एक दो तीन चार बंद करो यह अत्या चार। घर जाओ और खाओ आम का अचार।
पांचवी पास से तेज़ नहीं है उसकी क्रिएटिव टीम.

Panchvi Pass se Tez Hain.
This was one show that I thought was different but as it proved out to be that it was again conceptualized on a show developed elsewhere.
Where is the Indian mind. No creativity. same copy cat stuff and to top it all the paanchvi pass concept where when the stakes go high the questions remain no more paanchvi paas.
Shahrukh has tried to do his best but I think the concept is such that neither he nor anybody in this world can make it a hit. He also didn't have a great deal of luck in IPL with his team the knights of kolkatta riding back to their. The result has been shown in the decreasing TRP's of the show.

The creative team of the show "paanchvi paas se tez nahin hai"
They need to come on screen and say that with the hands on their ears.
And then do 100 sit ups before they are sent to class 5 of creativity.
In the class 5 of creativity they will have to eat the TV burger of creativity in the lunch and then they stand a chance to be back in the race.

Arnab Goswami, the star of Indian news television

This time it is the super Mc TV with extra cheese.
Yes. Super Mc TV is Mr Arnab Goswami, who with his level headed skill and an anchoring personality has brought in people like me to watch a news channel regularly. The MTV goers like me were hooked up to a news channels just because of the amazing presentation and some very good content. You don't need to be formal cos its frankly speaking with Arnab. Check out more about Arnab.

Todays hot news channel

The hot news channels of today which are too many and too hot to handle. So what has changed in the past few years in news channels.

Anchors-yes
Presentation-yes
Over-hyped content-Yes

What else: They are capturing the market of the people who seldom used to watch news.

The increased crime rate, terrorism, nature attack and the over cooked stories have made them the prime time channel of the modern era. The content is there, but still it is not. Cos its just not news.

Todays news channel is all about
Celeb gossip
Scoops and scandals
Breaking news (what the f#@%, every damn news is made breaking)
Repetition
And loads of other crap...
But yes there are still which good anchors, personalities and some useful content.

Please stop American Idol

Hey....
Stop stop stop!!!
No more of this... This crap is enough
American Idol needs a break or probably we need a breaak from it. It is simply boring.
Change the judges or probably change the format a bit. Wot say...
